IABF Law Firm is proud to have assisted IDX in preparing the Indonesian Carbon Trading System, which was launched on September 26, 2023. The carbon trading system is a significant step towards fulfilling Indonesia’s commitment to achieving an unconditional emission reduction target of 31.89% in 2030 and net zero emissions by 2060.
The trading system will use a certificate that shows the amount of greenhouse gas emission reduction, quantified in one ton of carbon dioxide.
IDXCarbon, Indonesia’s official carbon exchange, will play a vital role in reducing Indonesia’s carbon emissions and driving the country’s transition to reach net zero emissions by 2060. The carbon exchange will also promote energy transition and mitigate the climate impact of the country’s coal-dominated power sector.
